9.27.14 - Engineers with a Commanding Win Over TCNJ

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – RPI arrived early to the Saturday afternoon puck drop, eager to bounce back from their previous-day loss at the Loucks Ice Center with a win over The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Lions.

Sophomore Kyle DeVault opened the scoring minutes into the first period with the help of Junior captain Adam Hennick who fed Freshman linemate Louie Olivieri in the slot. Olivieri’s attempt on goal was stopped by the Lions’ netminder only to be put home by a lurking DeVault. Penalties again plagued the Engineers as they would go down a man just minutes later, followed, not surprisingly, by a TCNJ equalizer. All three of the Lions’ tallies were on man-up situations. However, RPI’s offensive production would remove any doubt as to the outcome of this game.

Both Hennick (1G, 2A) and Junior Teo Camadella (2G, 1A) recorded three-point evenings, while Senior Connor Blake, Junior Patrick Quarry, and fellow Sophomores Nick Ambery and alternate captain Zach White each put one past the Lions’ goaltender. On his first start of the season, Junior Spencer Whitehead recorded 18 saves en route to a confident 8 – 3 RPI victory.
